2025: The Year I Stopped Choosing What Was Safe — And Started Choosing What Was True

There’s something about the week between Christmas and the New Year.

Time bends.

Schedules soften.

And suddenly, the truth is a little easier to hear.

So before we step into 2026, I want to tell you a story about how my year actually began — because it shaped everything that followed.

 

The Question That Changed My Entire Year

In January, I was invited to facilitate an in-person mastermind day for another mentor’s community.

We gathered in a room full of brilliant, accomplished women — the kind who have done the hard things, built the businesses, created the lives they once prayed for.

We spent the morning unraveling identity architecture, feminine power, and internal congruence.

But one question shifted the whole atmosphere:

“If you knew you couldn’t fail…

What is one bold thing you would create, do, or bring to life this year?”

The room went still.

Then the answers began to spill out:

“Launch my haircare line.”

“Write the book.”

“Start trying to become a mom.”

“Rebrand.”

“Start the thing I’ve been talking myself out of.”

And Susan, it gave me chills — because these women weren’t just naming goals.

They were naming truths.

Things they had been holding quietly.

Tenderly.

Bravely.

And here’s the beautiful twist:

Most of them went on to do the thing they named aloud that day.

But when I drove home that night, something unexpected hit me:

I felt like a fraud.

Not because I didn’t believe those women.

Not because I couldn’t hold the space.

But because I realized…

I wasn’t living in alignment with the very question I had asked them.

 

The Bold Move I’d Been Afraid to Admit

When I sat with that same question —

If you knew you couldn’t fail… what would you create this year?

— the truth was embarrassingly clear:

I wanted to build an in-person mastermind.

Not another online room.

Not another Zoom container.

Not another “scale fast” or “bigger numbers” thing.

I wanted intimacy.

Depth.

Nervous-system grounded conversations.

Women whose hearts beat at the same frequency.

An inner circle with no performance, no pedestal, and no pressure.

I had wanted it since 2019.

But back then, right after I sold my salon, I became the target of a local mean-girl campaign — instigated by someone I once considered a mentor.

And it shook me.

It made me question my voice.

My leadership.

My belonging.

My authority.

So instead of building the mastermind I really wanted, I defaulted to what felt safe:

Online programs.

Digital groups.

Offerings that didn’t require me to be physically seen up close.

But this year, I finally asked myself:

What if the fear isn’t the truth?

What if the desire is?

So I followed it.

And two weeks later, Limitless Legacy Mastermind was born.

Within days, 12 brilliant women said yes.

Not because I positioned it as the next big thing.

Because they were craving exactly what I was craving:

A room that wasn’t about performing —

but becoming, together.

 

The Second Bold Move I Almost Talked Myself Out Of

The other vision that had been sitting in my heart since summer of 2024 was Miracle Magnet Co.

A brand that felt assigned to me.

Given to me.

Not by strategy.

But by God.

It wasn’t logical.

It wasn’t a niche extension.

It wasn’t a business move that made sense on paper.

But when you’re being asked to build something…

you know.

So I followed the knowing.

And on July 7th, Miracle Magnet Co. launched into the world.

Not perfect.

Not polished.

Not viral.

But aligned.

And alignment is its own kind of miracle.

 

2025: The Year I Stopped Choosing What Was Predictable

This wasn’t the year of the biggest monetary milestones.

This wasn’t the year of scaling or optimizing.

This was the year I rebuilt my relationship with truth.

The year I stopped outsourcing my direction.

The year I honored the callings that didn’t make sense on paper — but made absolute sense in my soul.

The year I remembered that:

You don’t build a legendary life by doubling down on what’s safe.

You build it by listening to what’s true.
